I am honored to formally announce our upcoming tournament that will be held at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa on Saturday, October 30, 2010. In conjunction with Ohana Martial Arts (Maui), HOPE ( Hawaii Organization of Pilipino Eskrima) and The Westin Hotel our 4th annual Filipino Martial Arts Tournament will take place.

Effective April 1, 2010 The WEKAF USA Board of Directors has established a Pacific Island Region that encompasses the Hawaiian Islands and the US Territory of Guam. In order to establish a presence and move forward with eventual sanctioned tournaments in the Pacific Region the WEKAF USA Board of Directors asked me if I would accept the position of Regional Director. I accepted the nomination and effective April 23, 2010 I was informed by letter (see attached) by Gabe Rafael, WEKAF USA Country Director that the WEKAF USA Board of Directors had approved the measure of nominating me as the newly installed Pacific Island Regional Director. My mission as Pacific Island Regional Director is to facilitate the development of sanctioned WEKAF USA tournaments. I invite all persons involved in the Filipino Martial Arts that have an interest in the WEKAF style of tournaments to contact me. Our immediate goal is to make contact will all interested persons in the Pacific Region area to start developing a contact list so we can distribute information as it becomes available. Our longer range goal for 2010 is to hold workshops so as to give interested persons a chance to learn more about the WEKAF tournaments and the rules governing said tournaments. We encourage all Filipino Martial Arts schools and the individual members of the schools to join WEKAF USA.
